Booking a plot is mostly paperwork, and the paperwork is what protects you. This guide walks through the usual steps and the documents you should end up holding.
Before you book
- Check the scheme's approval status on RDA's official list (see our NOC status page).
- Choose the block and plot size, and ask for the block map.
- Get a written quote showing the price, registration fee, down payment and full instalment schedule.
Documents you will normally need
- A copy of your CNIC (or NICOP for overseas Pakistanis).
- Passport-size photographs.
- Next-of-kin details and a copy of their CNIC.
- For overseas buyers booking through a relative: a power of attorney, ideally prepared with legal advice.
Paying safely
- Pay by bank transfer, pay order or demand draft into the developer's official company account.
- Do not pay cash to an individual, and do not pay into a personal account, whoever asks.
- Get an official receipt for every payment, showing your name, the amount and the plot or booking reference.
Check your booking form
Before you sign, make sure the form shows your full name and CNIC, the block, plot size and (if allotted) plot number, the total price, and the payment schedule. Ask how and when the allotment letter will be issued and what the transfer process is if you later sell.
Keep a file
Keep your booking form, every receipt, the allotment letter and all correspondence in one folder, with scanned copies stored separately. If you ever sell or transfer the plot, these documents prove your payment history.
